Provenance Blockchain is a public Proof-of-Stake blockchain built with the Cosmos SDK and CometBFT for financial applications, rights records, and real-world asset tokenization. HASH is its native coin, not Hashflow's HFT token. It pays network and settlement fees, is delegated to validators, participates in on-chain governance, and is used in the HASH Market mechanism. Beyond standard blockchain components, the network provides specialized marker, metadata, registry, and exchange modules for issuing, describing, and settling financial assets. HASH should therefore be assessed through paid use of these functions, not merely the nominal volume of assets whose records exist on the network.

What it is used for

Users spend HASH on Provenance operations, delegate coins to a selected validator to secure consensus, and vote on network parameters and upgrades. Validators and delegators receive block rewards and some fees while accepting an unbonding period and slashing risk. Application fees are denominated in dollars and paid in a converted amount of HASH, making operation costs more predictable for financial services. Some fee assets go to HASH Market: participants can bid with HASH, and winning HASH bids for other assets are burned. Relevant measures include settlement volume, paid registrations, stake share, validator concentration, new issuance, and actual burns.
